Rom 14:8-11 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.
9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
KJV
Why did Jesus die for us, why the cross? So we could live for Him. (Verse 8) There is no other reason, no other cause, so we could live for Him. When one realizes that it makes the Christian life so much easier to live. Now Jesus comes into our thinking, Jesus comes into our actions, when we are living for Him. Now we are able to love, we are able to forgive, when we are living for Him. Now we are able to worship in truth, we are able to serve, when we are living for Him. All of those things are unnatural to our flesh and we do not consider them if we are living to self but when we are living for Jesus all of that changes, those tings become a part of our new nature because they are part of the new man. Why did Jesus die for us? So we can live for Him.
