2 Sam 15:23 And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.
KJV
Here King David is having to leave his palace because his son would kill him and take the throne. The man after God’s heart had a great deal of trouble in his life, a lot of sadness. Why this verse this morning? Because if David had to deal with these things after he turned his heart back to the Lord. Jesus also had to deal with these things. If Jesus, if David why should we expect a life free from trouble and trials? The good news is that because David stayed faithful to the Lord through this time of trouble the Lord brought him back to the throne, God restored David. No matter the trouble, no matter the questions you might have, stay faithful to the Lord. Yes, we may have troubles like David had but our God will restore as we stay faithful to Him.
