7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

Even though all turned away from Him Jesus still turned to the cross. Still the most stirring fact about this all to me. The nation of Israel, the religious leaders, the rulers of government, His own disciples, all turned from Jesus. (Matt 26:31 Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.) But Jesus still turned to the cross. How many people who have offended you, done wrong to you, lied about you, have been cruel to you, would you give your life for? I imagine it is a very short list, I know mine is. Yet Jesus still went to the cross for you as well as for me. Try and give that some thought today, just how much Jesus loves you and me when we have done so much to Him.
