Isa 53:1-5 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

I see advertised on TV some new documentaries about Jesus, the life of Jesus, the person of Jesus. This goes along with the Easter season and will draw some interest. I will not watch any of them because they will not give a real picture of Jesus. If you want to know Jesus, the real Jesus, you need to meet Him in the Bible and not on the TV or movie screen. The problem with most people is that they would rather believe Hollywood instead of the Word of God. (Isa 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?) God’s arm has been revealed, His Word is available to us, will you then believe it? If you will there is much in this chapter about Jesus you need to know which we will examine this week. First, Jesus was no star or attention seeker. Jesus in earthly form did not stand out, was not exceptional. (Verse 2) He grew up a tender plant, not offensive or a threat to anyone. He looked ordinary and acted ordinary until it was time for Him to be revealed. It speaks of the way we should look and act as Christians. Yes, we are to stand for truth, we are to witness, we are to make our voices heard. But it is never to be in an overly offensive way and never to draw attention to ourselves. Too many professing Christians miss this about Jesus as they promote self in the way they act, dress, and even in the way many preach.
