13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
KJV
I was reading this passage of Scripture and it began to make an impression upon my heart more than it had other times reading it. I thought God was to guide our steps, God was to make a path we are to follow as His children, that God was to lead us. All those things are true, but I also find I am to make a straight path for my feet. (Verse 13) If God is going to do those things, why do I need to do them as well? Because God wants me to do my part. I am not to follow along blindly, not thinking, not making choices, God still allows me my free will as a Christian. Just as God did not force me to be saved God will not force me to follow His path, God wants me to do my part. Satan will throw many things at us as Christians to make a bend in our path, to make a rough and steep road, but God would have us make a straight path, make a path easy to follow. Yes, we do need to do our part in making a straight path to follow. I cannot wonder away from God and expect the path to be an easy one, I must do my part in following Him, in making a straight path. (More on this tomorrow.)
