Here is a command you hear very little about today, one I hope to preach about on Sunday, repent. People don’t want to hear about repentance because it upsets them and preachers have quit preaching about repentance for the same reason. Some place along the line people have gotten the idea that God will smile at sin, wink at sin, but God will not. Repentance demands that one sees him or her self in the same way God does and that sin will sicken them the way it does God. People have no desire to change today, no desire to turn from sin. Tell the lost they need to repent and they respond by saying God will accept them the way they are. Tell the backslidden Christian the same thing and they respond by saying God understands their weaknesses. Neither is true. God commands all men every where to repent. Have you repented before God, are you willing to repent?
