1 Cor 10:12-14 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
KJV
It seems to me that there is a great deal of pride and arrogance in Christianity today and not just in the Charismatic camp. Too many people thinking far too highly of themselves. The Bible tells us that we are to take heed. Why? Because of the possibility, the all too real possibility of a fall. There is of course a time to stand, a time to fight, but I also see that there is a time to flee. Not only should we flee idolatry as we are commanded above, but we should also fell temptation. Perhaps the way to have victory over temptation is to flee from it when it arises instead of thinking ourselves strong enough to overcome it. Don’t be so proud as a Christian that it becomes the weakness that causes our fall.
