1 John 3:1-2 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

How great is that love that would move God to want to be identified with us? As a young boy I always wanted to please my father, I wanted my father to be proud of me. When given a task I tried to finish it well, I wanted my father’s approval. I tried to behave in a manner that he would be pleased with, I never wanted my father to be ashamed of me. I was happy to be known as his son and I wanted him to be happy to be known as my father. Does our heavenly Father deserve any less consideration? But many times we forget the relationship we have with God the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ. He is not ashamed to be identified with us so we should behave in a manner, live in a way that never brings shame to His name.
