KJV
Another of the shorter verses in the Bible but it contains the most important words ever spoken by Peter, “Lord, save me.” Peter on his own said some impulsive things in the Bible that he later regretted. Peter inspired by the Holy Spirit said some of the most important things in the Bible. Here Peter cries out to Jesus at a time when he needed Jesus the most. Peter was about to die, who could help? Should he try and swim back to the boat, should he call for a rope, should he call for his partners in the fishing boat to swim to him, who to call out to? There was only one who could help Peter just as there is only one who can help us. This call for help came from Peter just as our cry for salvation must come from us. That prayer for salvation does not have to be a long one, but it does have to be sincere and it must be directed to Jesus.
