Another short verse that speaks volumes. Who was Jesus weeping for, what was Jesus weeping over? Jesus was at the grave of Lazarus so He must have been weeping because He lost a friend, right? No. Jesus knew what He was about to do, raise Lazarus from the grave. So why was Jesus weeping, who was Jesus weeping for? Jesus was weeping over the brokenhearted, Jesus was weeping for those troubled in soul and spirit, Jesus was weeping for you and me in our troubled times. Jesus knew all things, past, present, and was able to look down through the ages and see even us today. An all-knowing God knows all things. Have you ever stopped to think that those tears were for you? When you are brokenhearted, He knows. When you are troubled deep within, He knows. When you are in pain, He knows. Because He knows He weeps for you. Meditate upon that today.
