2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
KJV
This is the Word of God, the Bible, God speaking to us, God commanding the believer in Christ to grow spiritually. These are also the last recorded words of the Apostle Peter and last words carry special meaning, they have in every society in every generation. The last words, the last command the Holy Spirit gave through Peter was to grow spiritually. Why is this so important? Because salvation is not the end of the Christian life, it is the beginning. So many professing Christians seem to grow satisfied with the status quo, seem to be satisfied with where they are in their walk with the Lord and with their spiritual life. My friend this should not be. We need to have a hunger for the Word of God, a desire to pray, a longing to grow in the Lord. Never think we have reached the top in this world, there is always room to grow in the Lord.
