Heb 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
KJV
What joy could there possibly have been in the cross for Jesus? The joy was in doing the will of the Father. There are many things in this life that are far from joyous in themselves, yet if one is walking in the will of God they will lead ultimately to joy. Our joy should be woven in His will, not ours. Remember that dear one as we go through the hardships of life and remember this verse as well. 1 Thess 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
