2 Chron 25:7-9 But there came a man of God to him, saying, O king, let not the army of Israel go with thee; for the Lord is not with Israel, to wit, with all the children of Ephraim.
8 But if thou wilt go, do it, be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down.
9 And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The Lord is able to give thee much more than this.

Why do we as Christians so often think that we can do more for ourselves than God can or that we can get more from the world than the Lord will give to us? Here Amaziah is given a great truth by the man of God, “The Lord is able to give thee much more than this.” When we think that we can do better on our own, when we think we can get more from the world, we need to be reminded of this truth. Friend, a little with the Lord is better than a lot without Him. Do you believe that? If that answer is yes then we need to begin to live it.
