And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.
KJV
Many are getting ready for the biggest hunting day of the year in PA. the first day of buck or antlered deer season, always the Monday after Thanksgiving. Most will be sighting in their rifles, getting ammunition, making sure their favorite spot is ready for the big day. With that I thought to look at hunters, but of a different type, this week. Nimrod was a mighty hunter before the Lord, but he was not after animals, he was after souls and not in a good way. Nimrod was used of Satan to take many away from the Lord and take them to hell. However God wants hunters as well, hunters of souls. How can we prepare ourselves to be successful hunters of souls? First we need the proper equipment. A deer hunter needs a good gun, good scope, good ammunition, without those he will have no success. The hunter of souls needs a good Bible, good gospel tracts, and a good testimony. The Bible needs to be the King James Bible, tracts need to point the lost to Jesus through repentance of sin, and the testimony comes from a good Godly life lived before the world. Call those the big three because without them you can never find success in the woods or in hunting of souls.
