Col 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
KJV
It seems to me when reading the Bible that those who have the most to be thankful for have the harder time obeying this command and those who have the least to be thankful for are the more thankful people. That speaks to the nature of man, our pride, our flesh. Israel complained all the way to the Promised land, the ten were cleansed but only one turned to give thanks. Adam serves as another example. He was placed in the Garden of Eden, given everything by God, walked in the presence of God and had perfect communion and fellowship with God. Why do I say Adam was unthankful? It was not his words, it was his actions. Adam turned his back on all that God had given him, all that God had blessed him with, Adam wanted something more. Doesn’t that point to an unthankful heart? Are you thankful with what God has given you, with what God has blessed you with? I can say that most of the people I know today, the more they have the less thankful they are.
