John 21:12
12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

How often and for how long is the invitation extended to “Come and dine”? David prayed three times a day, that is three times he set apart for prayer. Daniel set three times each day apart for prayer. I am sure they both prayed more than that each day. Jesus wants us to come continually before Him in prayer. (1 Thess 5:17 Pray without ceasing.) The invitation then is opened ended, always extended for us to “Come and dine.” For how long? I say for eternity. There will come a time when we no longer need to pray, when we are with Him in heaven, but does that end the invitation? I think not for our desire will be to abide with Him, to be with Him even in heaven. When Jesus gave that invitation it was a never ending one. Why not then take full advantage of it, why not spend much time with Jesus?
