11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, and hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.
12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
KJV
The invitation of verse twelve is an open one, still given today to all who look to Jesus Christ, “Come and dine.” What a wonderful picture this is of salvation and our relationship with Jesus Christ after we are saved. The Lord wants all to come to Him, all are invited to be saved. Don’t let the promoters of a false gospel tell you that salvation is for a chosen few, it is for all, for Jesus calls to all “Come and dine.” Then the time that Jesus wants us to give to Him, to spend with Him. Meal times bring back some of the most pleasant memories of both my youth, sitting around the table with mom and dad and my sister, holidays with grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, as well as with my wife and children, what memories I have. We would talk, laugh, make plans, meal times were great times. Jesus wants us to have those times with Him, “Come and dine.” Do you answer the invitation, do you spend time with Him? I hope you spend some time with Jesus today for He is most certainly calling for you, “Come and dine.”
