Daily Devotions

Col 1:1-5
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

There are a lot of things an individual may hope for in this world, wealth, good health, popularity, most of which may or may not be realized. There is a hope though that is sure, that is hope placed in the Lord Jesus Christ. This hope is laid up in heaven according to verse five. This hope, because it is sure, becomes the source of our joy, our peace, our contentment in this world. This hope is the very foundation of faith and trust. Where does your hope rest today? Is it perhaps a hope based in this world, or is it a sure hope resting on the foundation of Jesus Christ?
