Deut 33:29
29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

Who should be happier than a saved individual, who has more reason to be happy than a child of God redeemed by the blood of the Lamb? Then why do so many professing Christians look so defeated, so depressed, so down all the time? It is not easy to live in this world, but where is the joy of the Lord? To renew that joy begin to think today of what has been done for you by Jesus, what He is doing for you at this moment, and what will be done for you as well. There are times when we just need to get our eyes off self, off the world, and on Jesus. He is the shield of our help and the source of our true happiness.
