22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
KJV
The word “If” is found quite often in the Bible and often applied to those who profess salvation in Christ. I say profess because not everyone who claims salvation possesses salvation. What is one of the signs of a possessor of salvation and not a professor of salvation? Walking in the Holy Spirit, or living a life guided by the Holy Spirit of God. One who possess Jesus Christ, one who has the Holy Spirit within should have that demonstrated in their life. Fruit grows on a fruit tree because that is what a fruit tree produces. The fruit of the Spirit will come out in the believer in Christ because that is what the Holy Spirit produces. Are you a professor of salvation or do you possess Jesus Christ? If you live in the Spirit, have spiritual life, then walk in the Spirit, let that life shine out.
