Mark 13:35-37 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

I was talking to grandchildren yesterday and one was stating how many days until Christmas day. Christmas Day is coming and we know when, Dec. 25th. Same date every year. I know my wife’s birthday is coming as well in March, same date every year. Yet there will be people who are not ready for Christmas or other important dates that they know are coming. Same date every year, they have 365 days to get ready, and still are not. There is an event coming, one promised, one sure, and we do not know the date or the time. None of us know the appointed time of our death, but we know it is coming. None of us know the date or the time of the Lord’s return, but we know it is coming. Those things are far more important than Dec. 25th or any other important dates and yet many are not ready to stand before the God of heaven and give an account of their lives. Are you ready today? Not for Dec. 25th, are you ready to give an account of your life to God? What have you done with Jesus and His free offer of salvation? Have you received Jesus Christ as your personal savior? What have you done for Christ if you are saved? Are you ready today? I know how many days until Christmas and I am not quite ready. I don’t know the day I will give an account before God and that I need to be ready for. Are you ready today?
