1 Thess 4:16-18 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

How many days until Christmas? That was the countdown when I was a youngster, counting down the days until Christmas morning. It is still a countdown today for many as they anticipate all that takes place on Christmas day. A more important countdown is the one until the sure and soon rapture of the born again believer out of this world. The big difference of course is that none of us know when that trumpet will sound and we will be caught up to meet our Lord in the air. What we must be sure of is that we are ready for that day. Most spend a great deal of time and money to be ready for Christmas Day. I was shopping yesterday with and for my wife and stores were packed with people getting ready for Christmas. I wondered how many were ready for the return of Jesus Christ? Better to miss being ready for Christmas than to miss being ready for the return of Jesus. Are you ready today to meet Jesus? It could be today because there is a countdown going on. Be ready.
