Peter 1:5-10 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Does next Tuesday mark the most important election day in the history of our nation? Both political parties claim that it is. Is this most important election of your lifetime? Both parties say that it is. But is it? What if we decided to make King Jesus the king of our lives? What if we determined, by the power and grace of God, to add to our faith the items listed above? What if we gave ourselves over completely to the Holy Spirit that dwells within us as born again believers in Christ? What if we made that our sure election? I have no idea what is going to happen next week, or what will take place in America after the upcoming election. But I am sure that I need Jesus to be the King of my life, the Lord of my life, and to be the one sitting on the throne. That will make a good election.
