Matt 14:30-31 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
KJV
Perhaps the shortest prayer in the Bible is recorded for us in Matt 14:30 when Peter cried out “Lord, save me.” Nothing else mattered to Peter at that time, he needed to be saved. Is that a prayer that you have prayed? I hear on the news all the time right now in the wake of the flooding in the South that people need our prayers and people saying we are praying and our prayers are with all those touched by the storm. But are those people really praying and do their prayers move the hand of God? The first prayer that can be answered by our Holy and Righteous God is one of salvation, is one when we ask Jesus Christ to save us. That prayer moved the hand of Jesus and Peter was saved from the storm and that prayer when it comes from a heart seeking salvation in Christ is still one that moves the hand of God. Those without homes, those who have lost loved ones over the past week do need prayer, but one must be born again in order to have those prayers heard and answered by our loving God. Are you born again today? Have you cried out to Jesus asking Him to save you?
