Matt 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
KJV
Will conduct a funeral service today for an old and dear friend who has finished their course in this world. Born again at an early age they served the Lord in their local church under the ministry of their father who was the pastor. They entered into full time ministry then and served for many, many years. Later when age took their health and their spouse they served in the nursing home where they lived sharing the gospel, playing the piano, and singing hymns. Later declining health took those things away as well and yet they remained faithful to the Lord in praying for many others. Now the race is over and they are with the Lord. Many could look at their life and think not much of it, but not God, not Jesus and I am confident they heard the words above when they were escorted into heaven by the angels and finally were found face to face with Jesus. They did finish the course with joy. Can the same be said of you one day? Are you born again? Are you living for and serving the Lord? Has age caught up to you? What will you do in declining years? If you want to hear “Well done” from your savior continue on being faithful to our wonderful Lord.
