Daily Devotions

Jer 20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

Did you wake up this morning with a fire in your bones? Did you wake up with a desire for the Word of God? Is your heart burning with a desire to hear from God today? Few who claim to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior will be able to say yes to those questions. The Bible has been replaced with the TV, with the computer, with the smart phone, with social media, with face book and so many other platforms that many give no time to the Bible. Then we wonder why our spiritual life seems to be lacking, why we don’t seem to get much out of the Bible when we do read it, why we seldom remember what the preacher brought just an hour or two later. We have left the fire that God wants burning in our bones to go out. When the fire is burning we will want to share the gospel message with those we meet, we will want to talk about our Lord, we will have a bright spiritual light burning. Take some time today to get that fire burning again, take some time in prayer and some well spent time in the Bible.
