May 30th, 2024 by Pastor Solley2 Kings 22:1-2 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.
2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.
2 Kings 22:8 And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the Lord. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.

The revival led by young king Josiah began as all revivals do in the house of God. Notice this morning that the revival was rooted in the Word of God. They found the book and they read the book. For a long time not only was the house of God neglected but the Word of God as well. Revivals need a place to start, the house of God, and they need to be rooted or grounded in the Word of God. Do you believe the Bible is the Word of God? Until that answer us yes there will be no revival in your heart. If you believe the Bible is the Word of God do you read your Bible faithfully? Until that answer is yes there will be no revival. Now, do you obey the Bible? Many will say yes to the first two questions and then live lives that answer the third question no. Until we begin to obey the Word of God there will be no revival. Jesus wants obedience. (John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.) It is impossible to miss interrupt that verse. I do not claim to understand all that is in the Bible but there are parts that are impossible to miss and are very easy to understand. (1 John 5:1-3 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.) Can one come to any conclusion other than God wants obedience from His children? Until we begin to obey the Bible there will be no revival in our hearts, in our homes and in our churches. Revival is rooted in the Word of God.
