John 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
KJV
If you study the prayer life of the our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ you will find that every prayer coming from Jesus to the Father in heaven is answered exactly the way Jesus prayed and when He prayed. That is not true of us because we have not the mind of God or the wisdom of God. Often we must wait and at times the answer to our prayers may be no. There is a prayer however that Jesus would not pray and that is recorded for us in John 17:15 above. Jesus would not pray that we be taken out of this world before the time appointed by the Father. There is an appointed time. (Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:) But before that time we are to continue to serve our Lord in sickness and in health, in joy and in sorrow, is trial and triumph, we are to continue to serve our Lord. For a short time now I will be limited in what I can do because of some physical problems that today I am beginning to see get better. But although I cannot do what I was for a time I can give more time to other things such as prayer and study. Still in this world I am still to serve. That is true of every born again child of God. Many older Christians become discouraged and even depressed because they can no longer do what they once did. Do more of other things you can do for the Lord. Circumstance may change in our lives that limit us from doing what we once did. Do more of other things you can do for the Lord. Jesus never prayed we be taken out of this world early so keep on keeping on for our wonderful Lord as long as He allows.
