Daily Devotions

1 Tim 2:1-2 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
KJV
It is very easy to complain about our government and our leaders today especially after the last few years when we have seen prices rise, jobs and wages cut, crime on the rise and so on. But do we ever stop and pray for those in authority and do we ever give thanks for government and our nation? We live in the greatest nation in the world and enjoy the most freedoms in the world, but how often do we obey the Biblical command we see above? Instead of complaining, why not pray? Instead of complaining about everything, why not give thanks for what we have? God gave the command for a reason and we would be better off if we would obey it.
