KJV
Thinking of an inheritance this morning, something to be passed on and has been passed on. What can I leave my children and grandchildren that will last? The Bible states that it should be something that will be handed down from generation to generation, but what? Money will run out, houses will eventually fall down, land can be overrun, what can last? The Bible also gives the answer to that question. (Ps 119:111 Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.) A relationship and walk with the Lord that will be remembered, that will be an example that will last, a heritage, an inheritance that will last. I think this morning of Godly grandparents that loved the Lord and I remember. I remember times watching them read the Bible with such reverence, times of hearing them pray with humble confidence, I remember. I remember God fearing parents that loved and followed the Lord. I remember going to church as a family when the doors were open, I remember watching them serve in the local church, I remember them keeping the faith in times of trials, heartache and adversity, I remember. I remember and thank the Lord today for the inheritance they left for me and pray I can leave the same for my children and grandchildren. What will you leave that will last?
