Eph 5:21-25 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Eph 6:1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
KJV
Ever spend time thinking how successful Satan has been in his relentless attack upon the family? Even in independent, fundamental, Bible believing circles Satan has been able to destroy many families. In America today what is called the “Traditional family” , because it is after the God given model is all but unheard of. One man, one woman, one life for life is God’s model. Both husband and wife walking together in the Lord raising children in the Lord is God’s model. But that model is seldom what we see in today’s world. Single moms raising children who may not know who their father is. Men going from one relationship to another with no thought of making a proper home for wife or children. Children growing up not knowing who it is they should honor. The Bible says we ought to give honor to whom honor is due and in some situations that is impossible. I want to look throughout this week at God’s model for the family and rest assured the Bible presents a way to put this model together just as God wants. For today meditate upon the command found in Eph 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Are you as a husband or wife willing to submit to God’s model for the family? Only after that answer is yes can one begin to build what God has placed in front of us.
