2 Tim 2:1-5 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

Through this week we have looked at being a good soldier for our Lord Jesus Christ and prayerfully we all have found something to strive for. To strive for masteries is to strive to attain something we have not fully achieved. I know that I am not the soldier I could be, I need to be, or God wants me to be. That gives me something to strive for. What of you today? Are you that good soldier or is there something you can strive for as well? Our God is certainly worthy of some good soldiers and we do have examples set before us. Let us in these last days strive for what we have not attained.
