Daily Devotions
July 3rd, 2024 by Pastor Solley2 Kings 5:1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.

God is looking for soldiers and soldiers who are devout as we noted yesterday. Today we see that God is looking for soldiers who will obey His Word without question. Naaman when we meet him in the Bible is the opposite of what God is looking for. Through a young Hebrew slave he learns of the prophet Elisha and is ultimately sent to the prophet. When told to dip himself in the Jordan river seven times and he would no longer be a leper Naaman refuses and is about to return home in the same condition he arrived. When persuaded by an aid to follow the instructions of the man of God Naaman comes out of the river clean. What if no man had intervened for Naaman? He, because he would not obey the man of God who gave him the very Word of God, would have been a leper for the rest of his life and watched in pain as that disease destroy him. God doesn’t want His soldiers to question His Word, come up with a better plan, or just walk away. God wants us to obey immediately and with all of our heart. A good and Godly soldier will obey orders from his Lord and commander.
