1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
KJV
Are you born again this morning? If that answer is yes then how long have you been saved? Has the joy of salvation seemed to have worn off, have you gotten used to being saved? That should never happen dear Christian. The apostle John wrote these words under inspiration of the Holy Spirit some sixty years after he met and gave his life to Jesus Christ and for John that joy was still full. The first part of this chapter is in the perfect tense in the Greek language which points to something that happened in the past and the effects of that event are as real as if they just happened that very moment. John was full of the joy of his salvation? Are you? I repented of my sin and received the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal savior more than fifty years ago and I have not gotten over it yet and pray I never will. Today I am able to talk to the one who gave His life so I could be saved. Today I am able to open my King James Bible and allow that same one to talk to me. Today I am able to place my life in His capable hands and ask Him to guide me and direct me? Today I am able to give Him all my fears and questions and He will take care of them all. Today I get to spend time with Jesus and I hope I never get over the thrill of that. Never allow yourself to get used to being saved.
