Eccl 12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
KJV
For those of us getting older this Scripture takes on more meaning with each passing year. I was able to visit with an individual yesterday who has been a great blessing to me over the past fifty plus years. Their testimony of faithfulness and example in service to our Lord has had a great influence upon me. Now because of age they are greatly limited in what they can do. It certainly is good to serve God in our youth because days are coming when we can no longer do what we once did. But that does not mean our service for the Lord is over as the Bible mentions the strength and beauty of the gray head. I still draw encouragement from their testimony, strength from their stand in the Lord, and hope in the joy of the Lord that continues in their life. It is good to serve the Lord in our youth and it is good to stay faithful and do what we can in our later years as well.
