Ps 30:1-6 I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
2 O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
3 O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
4 Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
6 And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.
KJV
So many wonderful truths presented to us in the first six verses of this Psalm of dedication. David knew of the lifting and sustaining hand of the Lord. (Verses 1 -2) David knew that God had preserved his life many times over. (Verse 3) David had good reason to sing unto the Lord songs of praise and thanksgiving. But David as well knew sorrows. (Verse 5) Many times we find David soaking his pillow with tears in the Psalms as we often do today. There are many sorrows in this world and we will not avoid all of them. Some of those sorrows seem like they will go on forever. But we find this truth in verse five “Weeping may endure for a night”. Friend, there is a morning coming. When one knows the Lord Jesus Christ as personal savior there is a morning coming. Take up the Psalm of David when sorrows seem to have no end and be NOT moved away from the only one who can help you. (Ps 30:6 And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.) Never be moved for there is a morning coming.
