Acts 13:22

22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
KJV
Why David? Were there no others God could have used at that time to be king in Israel, to lead the people in the way of the Lord? Why David? There were others that God could have used including Samuel to be king. David was not the only righteous man, he was not the only courageous man, so why did God use David? The answer is in the verse, David would fulfill the will of God. Notice Acts 13:36 (Acts 13:36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption David served his generation by the will of God. Not only was it God’s will that David served, David walked in the will of God. Friend, if we are going to viewed as one after God’s heart then we must have a desire to walk in the will of God. Is that your desire today, or do you want God to bend His will to meet yours? There are many things I am currently praying about, things that I believe are needed, but they must be given in or by the will of God, otherwise they will not be to my benefit or the benefit of those around me. A man after the heart of God will also be a man after the will of God.
